STP 400 and Toyota Owners 400

I wasn't able to post last weeks race results due to my nephew and niece having soccer games in two different towns, so I'll post it and tonights race results together.

STP 400 - Dale had a pretty good car throughout the race, starting 23rd and finishing 16th. Dale remained 5th in the standings.

Toyota Owners 400 - Dale's car was extremely tight tonight and at one point he was fighting to stay in the top 20. He and Stevie worked hard throughout the race to get the car to handle better and Dale was able to finish 10th. He's moved up one spot in the standings to 4th!

Next week the guys hit the fast and furious high banks of 'Dega for the Aaron's 499!!

Tributes

Taking a moment to remember those who were lost and are injured in Boston and Texas.
My thoughts and prayers are with all affected by both accidents.

NRA 500

Dale Jr had a great car running as high as 3rd, however about half way into the race his main battery died and he pitted to check out the problem with his car (not thinking it was the battery) His night only got worse from there. Since the battery was dying, he couldn't see how fast he was going, so he sped going into the pit road. While serving his pass through penalty, Steve (who didn't know there was a rule against pitting while serving a pass through penalty) called him into change tires. Since Dale stopped, he had to serve another pass through penalty which put him 5 laps down. He did pass leader Kyle Busch at one point, getting one lap back the hard way. Dale finished 29th, 4 laps down and has fallen to 6th in points. Next week the guys head to Kansas.

O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 (Nationwide)

Junior had a fast car and with good strategy by Stevie, got up front and almost challenged for the win. He ran loose almost the entire race, and then tight right near the end. He finished 4th after starting 11th.

Regan Smith had a very good night as well, starting 6th and finishing 7th. He has moved into 2nd in points, 2 points behind leader Sam Hornish Jr, who spun through the grass on the front stretch and had problems the rest of the night.

Kasey Kahne also did well, starting 16th and finishing 8th.

STP Gas Booster 500

Dale had a (rare) bad day at Martinsville, thanks in small part to Jimmie Johnson. Dale was already a lap down when he spun out and instead of letting him go in front of him (once he got his car fired and rolling), Jimmie sped past him, putting Junior two laps down. He finished 24th.
